Thank you

Underdogs Rescue would like to take the time to say Thank You to the people who generously donate their time, money and expertise to helping our dogs. We are forever grateful and hope this list grows as we continue on this exciting journey.

First and foremost thank you to our board members and volunteers. Our board members spend countless hours on the phone, working with our volunteers, working with our dogs, and they do this all for the love of the dogs. Our Thank You is seeing a dog move into an adoptive home, and watching our dogs succeed and grow. We support each other through the good and bad days, cheering each other on when we need a hand!

So many people have helped us make Underdogs Rescue a success. We have never strived to be the largest rescue, or rescue the most dogs! We don’t look at the numbers, we look at each individual dog; we look at our great foster homes and adoptive homes! That is our success! Along the way we have met some amazing people and our sincere Thank You to them is below!

Veterinary Partners – These vets offer services at a reduced cost and allow us to give our dogs the best care possible! Without them we couldn’t save the dogs we do!

Pet Stores, Stores and Suppliers – Feeding our dog’s quality food is expensive! Collars, leashes, dishes and kennels are all items that can be costly! Our pet store affiliates and suppliers offer products at discounted rates or for free! This helps us supply our foster homes with the highest quality food and supplies!

Shelters, SPCA’s, and Animal Control(s) – Our dogs come from shelters all over Alberta, and even Canada wide. We get emails and calls from groups looking for help placing dogs and networking. Underdogs Rescue believes rescue is a community; we work with many different rescues and societies to help a dog in need. A few organizations that stand out!

Doggy Daycares and Kennel Facilities – Our foster homes need a break and sometimes vacations, or we have nowhere to place one of our dogs. This is where a daycare or kenneling facility comes into assistance. They offer a temporary place for our dogs to reside happily, somewhere safe so our foster families can take that vacation or get that much needed break! We work with a few facilities that have proven their ability to make the transition as smooth as possible!

Trainers – Our trainers help us with behavioral assessments, training for foster and adoptive families and often offer basic obedience classes at a discounted rate. We invest in our foster homes to ensure they understand how to work with a foster dog, not just house a dog. By investing in our foster families we are also investing in our community. We hope that the families pass on this knowledge to help build responsible dog owners. We often take on dogs that require some form of basic training or full rehabilitation in which our trainers are a huge help with.
